I want to clarify my previous review where I mentioned this product was bought and returned twice; that was a mistake. My daughter found the missing piece after she was supposed to be in bed—kids, right? So please ignore any negative comments from me. The product is complete, all parts are accounted for, and I’m giving it a 5-star rating because my daughter will be using it. She was disappointed to lose the earring piece but was thrilled to find it. Now that everything is in the package, she will have a great time making jewelry.

I purchased two sets for my granddaughters, and they absolutely loved them! On Christmas day, they dove right into creating trinkets. It does require some practice to master the right amount of hammering for a clean imprint on the metal and to keep the lettering straight. As a result, their first few attempts weren’t perfect, but they improved quickly. My only complaint is that there aren’t enough metal pieces—like bracelets, necklaces, tags, and chains. Just a couple of days in, my daughter had to make a trip to the craft store to buy more supplies.

Using this kit solo is quite challenging due to the tiny letters. It would be helpful to include practice pieces, as there aren’t enough charms to experiment with while learning. I’ve typically enjoyed STMT products, but this one fell short of my expectations.

I purchased this for my daughter, but after trying it out, we both feel it’s a complete letdown.
First off, the “mallet” is more like a small toy hammer, suitable for a 7-year-old, and it doesn’t provide enough force to make a deep impression like the product images suggest. The stamping base is too small, and because the rubber feet lift it off the surface, each hammer strike causes it to shake, resulting in “ghost letters” from slight movements of the stamp. Additionally, some of the charms are made from stainless steel, which is too hard for the provided hand tools to create deep impressions effectively.
The set only includes 9 charms, which isn’t nearly enough for practice, making it a poor value for the price. Lastly, the straight, aligned letters shown in the product photos are misleading; achieving those professional-looking results requires extra tools like fixtures, jigs, and clamps.
In summary, while the set’s quality isn’t in question, its execution is lacking and sets unrealistic expectations with deceptive photos, descriptions, and instructions. What began as excitement turned into frustration for both me and my daughter. I will be returning it.
